this album brightens my day. i got it about a month ago and ive listened to it about 7 times. her voice is so soothing.
I can't get enough of her voice after hearing her sing Girl of Ipanema on a compilation album, so I bought this CD. I got this for a bossa nova music lover and after hearing it, I would have to say it has been one of my best CD buys. Each track is soulful, complete with Astrud's distinct airy voice and smooth instrumentals. Many of the songs she sang may not have been that familiar to American radio, but they are well worth your ears. Broaden your music repertoire, get Astrud.
If you are loking for a disc representative of the best of Astrud Gilberto and what makes her unique sound so attractive then this is a good one to begin with.
Although I was a bit "put off" by some of the pop tunes, her summery voice & the warm arrangements held the snow at bay.
